Jessica Johnson Photography

I got my first film camera when I was about 9 or 10 years old. I have always LOVED taking pictures of things and people in the moment of enjoying life. My husband bought me my first Canon in 2011 and I haven’t put it down since. I enjoy learning anything photography and I am forever grateful my little family doesn’t mind it when my camera is in their face.

I decided to jump in with both feet and and start taking pictures for other people in 2014. I have enjoyed the adventures it has taken me on. It has also allowed me to explore my hometown in ways I haven't before. We have a lot of hidden gems in Amarillo, TX and I have enjoyed capturing them all and thankful for all the people I have met along the way.

My favorite sessions are Lifestyle. That is where the client just allows me to do my thing. Un-posed photos are my favorite and I am learning they are a lot of people’s favorite as well. I want to have fun and I want the person(s) in front of my camera to have a ton of fun too and be able to relax and let me capture the REAL them. I am never limited to opening my mind on where my camera allows me to go. After all it’s me that is capturing what I see, my camera just allows that moment to stand still.

My sessions include (but are not limited to): Lifestyle Photography, Family Sessions-big or small groups, Senior Sessions, Maternity along with Fresh 48, Save the Date and Engagement Sessions and small Weddings. I have been honored to have the repeat “clients” that I do that have turned into forever friends. They are the ones that first believed in me, paid me my first session fee and kept coming back for more as they grow.

I want to thank my amazing husband Josh for “just letting me do my thang” with anything and everything photography. He has this faith in my that can't be beat. My wonderful kids for getting dressed up on a Saturday afternoon and cruising town with me and being patient while I “test this and that out”. Their patience has allowed them to have some amazing photos you wont find in a stuffy studio. Forever grateful for my friends and family that believed and trusted in me as well. I take a referral as you would a bonus on a paycheck. Because it means someone out there acknowledges my effort to make great memories for them for years to come.

Have a great day and LIVE LARGE! --- Jessica Johnson
